Avesh Khan returned as the player of the match in LSG’s last game against KKR.
Lucknow Super Giants faced Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 53rd of the IPL 2022 and LSG crushed Shreyas Iyer and his men by a massive margin of 75 runs. The bowling unit of LSG, pacers, in particular, were at the forefront of this stunning victory as they shared eight wickets between them with Avesh Khan returning as the Player of the Match. In the same light, Khan shared his views on the bond between Lucknow pacers.
The 25-year-old added that they share a lovely bond and the company of four pacers including him, Dushmantha Chameera, Mohsin Khan, and Jason Holder is cherished by each other. Avesh further lauded Chameera and Mohsin for giving a brilliant start upfront which gave him the perfect assistance to seize the day.
“We four have a lovely bond,” said Avesh Khan, who returned as the Player of the Match in the LSG vs KKR game, to IPL’s official website.
Chameera and Mohsin gave us a very good start in the game: Avesh Khan
“Chameera and Mohsin gave us a very good start today, which reduced the pressure on me. We back each other in all conditions, during the time-outs and we tell each other what we could be trying out there in the middle,” he added.
Talking of the game between LSG and KKR, Iyer won the toss and decided to bowl first. Running out KL Rahul for a diamond duck with a brilliant throw was probably the only good thing that happened for Iyer and company. Later, a half-century by Quinton de Kock (50 off 29) and a brilliant knock by Deepak Hooda (41 off 27) pushed the new franchise to post 176 runs on the board.
While chasing up, KKR lacked enough firepower, and Avesh and Holder ran through their order to share six wickets between them, folding the opposite end on just 101 runs. Andre Russell’s 45 off 19 was the only ray of hope in KKR’s batting setup.
