Liam Livingstone and Kagiso Rabada of the Punjab Kings (PBKS) had an open and honest conversation following their team’s thumping victory over the Gujarat Titans (GT) on Tuesday. Livingstone smashed Mohammed Shami for a monstrous 117m maximum, breaking the record for the longest six in the IPL 2022.

When Rabada asked Livingstone how he felt after cracking the humongous six, the latter had a hilarious reply. The English cricketer reminded the South African of how he had smashed him for a similar maximum last year during the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

In a video shared by the IPL on their official website, Livingstone pulled Rabada’s leg during their candid chat as he said: “Yeah nice to get one out of the middle of the bat actually. I think that might be as big as the one I hit you in Sharjah! (laughs). It’s been nice, been a while since I got one properly out of the screws. That was really good. I told you this all time along, there is no time for blocks in T20 cricket.”

Kagiso Rabada scalped four wickets, restricting GT to a low total

Livingstone’s performance in the first innings of the game was also worth noting as he scalped the wicket of Titans’ power-hitter David Miller and put a pause on GT’s scoring. After picking the big wicket, he went on to play a match-winning knock of 30*(10), hitting Shami for three sixes and two fours in one over to finish off the game in style.

Rabada also opened up about his four-wicket haul against the Gujarat Titans as he was also adjudged as the Player of the Match. His start with the ball was a bit expensive, but he balanced it out in the remaining over of his spell and finished with figures of 4/33. “I think today was a perfect game of cricket from us. It’s the nature of the game, you’re gonna get hit for boundaries. It just went my way that I got wickets,” he said.
