The 40th match of the IPL 2022 will see Gujarat Titans (GT) taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) clashing at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on April 27, 2022. SRH had the upper hand when the two teams met earlier in the tournament as a win over GT kickstarted the Orange Army’s winning run which they have sustained so far.
SRH is coming into this match on a 5-match winning streak and is placed at 3rd spot on the IPL 2022 points table, while GT is second on the table. This encounter will determine which team solidifies their spot at the top half of the table and stays there.
Keeping this in mind, here is the COC Predicted Playing XIs for the GT v SRH match in Wankhede Stadium.
Gujarat Titans have been nothing but amazing in their debut season and have been led well by Hardik Pandya. Their opener Shubman Gill has been very good, but GT is yet to nail down his partner at the top as both Matthew Wade and Wriddhiman Saha have failed to give decent starts to the team.
The only concern for the GT team is the fitness of their captain Hardik Pandya, who has been experiencing some groin issues for the past two matches, which has seen Rashid Khan leading the team for some parts.
David Miller, Abhinav Manohar, and Rahul Tewatia are in top form with the bat, and Rashid Khan has been their trump card with the ball.
Lockie Ferguson and Mohammad Shami have been one of the best opening bowling pairs in IPL 2022 and now have received good support from Alzarri Joseph and left-armer Yash Dayal.
SRH has been in unbeatable form and they will clash against GT against whom their winning streak began. After losing their first two matches, SRH came back strongly with a win over GT and now has 5 wins from 7 matches played.
The Sunrisers’ batting clicked this time with Abhishek Sharma, Kane Williamson, Rahul Tripathi, and Aiden Markram doing the bulk of the scoring. Nicholas Pooran has shown some spark of his big-hitting prowess as well.
Perhaps, the return of Washington Sundar to the mix would enhance this team’s performance more.
Marco Jansen, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and T Natarajan have been excellent both at the start and in the death over, while the taste of IPL 2022, Umran Malik has been scorching fast and has batters ducking and fending for themselves against his consistently high-speed bowling.
