IPL 2023 is scheduled on 23rd December 2022 in Kochi. By 15 November 2022, all the franchises have to provide the list of retained and released players to the BCCI. This mini-auction franchise will rebuild its teams to make them strong and competitive. There is some amount left with the franchisees in the mega auction, which will be added to the mini auction. The purse value in the auction will increase by Rs 5 crore, taking the total purse value to Rs 95 crore.

The purse value after the last purse auction was Punjab Kings, i.e. INR 3.45 Crore, followed by Chennai Super Kings (INR 2.95 Crore), Royal Challengers Bangalore (INR 1.55 Crore), Rajasthan Royals (INR 0.95 Crore), and Kolkata Knight Riders (INR 0.95 Crore). INR 0.45 Crore).

IPL 2022 champions Gujarat Titans have a net worth of Rs 0.15 crore, while the other new team Lucknow Super Giants are not as lucky. The three teams Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals had Rs 0.10 crore each for the mini-auction.

This year the mini auction franchise will be eyeing some masterstroke players who performed exceptionally well in the T20 World Cup 2022 and in recent years. Players like Alex Hales, Ben Stokes, Cameron Green, Sam Curran, Sikandar Raza, Adil Rashid and Taskan Ahmed will be in high demand and are likely to fetch high bids. Three teams, Delhi, Lucknow and Punjab put their foot forward for overseas players as they bought only 7 overseas players.
