Dhoni’s tactical cricketing brain is lauded by fans and experts alike.
Ishan Kishan of Mumbai Indians is one name that seems to be one of the biggest things in Indian cricket in the coming days. He has already shined for his franchise in the IPL and even in the current season, has two fifties in two games of Mumbai. Though MI are struggling this season with two losses, Kishan looks to be in good touch, and ahead of the next game, he wishes to acquire something from the brain of legendary MS Dhoni.
Dhoni’s success in international cricket, as well as in the IPL, is known to all and apart from that, fans and experts always remain in awe of his tactical genius. Talking in the same context, Kishan said that he wonders how Dhoni’s brain works and talked about what he observed in one of the matches against CSK.
Kishan told that while he was on the crease, the then CSK skipper talked to Imran Tahir, who was bowling. After Dhoni spoke to him, Tahir bowled a stunning half-volley to Kishan and he got caught at third man. Kishan added that he is still not able to understand how a batter trying to drive a spinner gets caught at third man.
I’m wondering what Dhoni Bhai has told him: Ishan Kishan
“More than keeping I keep trying to figure out how his mind works. You won’t believe in one of the IPL games, it really stressed me out the most. I was playing well and hitting the bowlers. But then Dhoni Bhai walked up to the bowler and said something. I couldn’t hear what but he said to Imran (Tahir) Bhai. And in my mind, I’m wondering what Dhoni Bhai has told him,” said Ishan Kishan while speaking to Gaurav Kapoor on Breakfast With Champions.
“I don’t know what happened but there was a half-volley, which I drove but got out caught at short-third man. To date, I haven’t figured out how a batter trying to drive a spinner gets caught at third man,” he added.
