Mukesh Choudhary has certainly made a name for himself with some stellar spells in the ongoing IPL 2022. The left-arm pacer can swing the new ball and his ability to generate pace makes him even more lethal. Although the young fast bowler has been expensive at times, he’s expected to get better with experience. In his last outing, Choudhary recorded figures of 4/46 against Sunrisers Hyderabad as Chennai Super Kings recorded a much-needed 13-run win.

Choudhary revealed that he got a call from Deepak Chahar after the game again SRH and the bowling all-rounder praised him for his match-winning spell. It must be noted that Choudhary is technically filling Chahar’s shoes in the CSK line-up as the latter has been ruled out of the season due to injury issues. Nevertheless, the pace-bowling all-rounder has been constantly in touch with Choudhary to guide him.

Deepak Chahar has told me how to analyse the situation: Mukesh Choudhary

“Deepak [Chahar] bhai has played and performed for CSK for quite some time now. He is an amazing bowler. I am in touch with him regularly and he guides me a lot. He has told me how to analyse the situation and what to bowl in a particular situation. In the initial matches of the tournament, I did not do well. Deepak Bhai called and gave me tips,” Choudhary was quoted as saying by Times of India.

“He told me what I lack and how can I improve. From there on, I started getting results,” he added. Choudhary, who was a net bowler for CSK in the last season, has so far scalped 11 wickets in eight matches with his average being just over 25. Recalling other advice from his senior pro, the 25-year-old stated that Chahar asked him to keep following MS Dhoni’s instructions.

“When I claimed 4 wickets against Sunrisers, he [Chahar] called and praised me. He said well done, keep up the good work. He said – ‘keep your eye on the batsman and listen to Mahi bhai’s instructions. He has helped me a lot. Honestly, I was under pressure, but Deepak bhai’s words encouraged me a lot,” he added.
