Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was unfollowed by the franchise from their Instagram handle recently. It must be noted that the left-handed batter has also been ruled out of the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 owing to a possible rib injury.

Talking about Jadeja’s injury, the 33-year-old got injured during a group stage encounter against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 4. Even though he participated in the remainder of the match against the Red Army, Jadeja was ruled out in CSK’s subsequent match against the Delhi Capitals. However, it did not affect the Yellow Army as they completed an easy victory over the Capitals.

Ravindra Jadeja recently stepped down from the leadership post of CSK

Ravindra Jadeja reported a bruised rib and was unavailable for Chennai Super Kings’ game against Delhi Capitals on Sunday. He was under observation and based on medical advice he has been ruled out for the rest of the IPL season,” CSK said in a statement.

To note, the left-handed batter was appointed as Yellow Army skipper before the start of IPL 2022. However, the defending champions performed miserably under his leadership. As a result, Jadeja stepped down from the captaincy and the post was again handed over to veteran MS Dhoni.

It may be noted that the left-handed batter had a poor tournament. In 10 matches, he only amassed 116 runs and scalped five wickets. Talking about his overall numbers in the IPL, the 33-year-old has played 210 matches and has scored a total of 2502 runs at a decent average of 26.62. He plays at a strike rate of 127.65 and has scored two half-centuries. With the ball, he has scalped a total of 132 wickets at an economy rate of 7.61.

Meanwhile, the defending champions will take on the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in their next group stage encounter. The highly-anticipated contest will be played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on May 12 (Thursday). The Yellow Army is currently placed ninth in the points table.
